Laura Wright

"Creating is something I love to do. Painting in particular is therapeutic for me. It has helped me see the world and the beauty around me. I see beauty in things that may have gone unnoticed in the past. I just want to pass the beauty and the lessons that I have learned along my journey."

Laura Wright of Arma, Kansas is a seventeen-year Marine Corps veteran, with two tours to Iraq. Originally from California, Laura moved to Kansas with her husband after their tours of duty were over. She lived a rather peaceful life with her family; husband Craig, daughter Rayne, and sons Trenton and Myles until after 9/11. At that time Laura felt compelled to rejoin the ranks of the Marines where she stayed until 2016, when she was medically retired.

Laura has always loved art and creating. As a very young adult she took some painting courses but put up the paintbrush for a rifle early on. After turning in her rifle in 2016, she picked the paintbrush back up in earnest.

Laura didn’t stop there; she is now publishing children’s books with more on the way! Books are available for purchase at the Gallery or on Amazon and Kindle:
